Urelax Plus is a dietary food supplement that contains Serenoa, Boldo, Chili Pepper, Vitamin E and Lycopene. It supports the well-being of the prostate and the urinary trait and has an anti-oxidant effect.
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia(BPH) is a very common condition in the male population.
Complementary therapies definitely include Serenoa Repens and other components which are beneficial for men’s urinary system.
Ecupharma offers URELAX PLUS, a new dietary food supplement composed of:
Serenoa Repens (320 mg) tit. 85-95% in fat acids
Serenoa Repens is a non-competitive 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor which significantly decreases DHT levels inside the prostate without interfering with other androgen-dependent processes. It contains anti androgenic compounds which are stored in the lipophylic component of the drug. Its pharmacologically active substances are phytosterols, especially fat acids. It is therefore essential to use extracts with high titration in fat acids. US Pharmacopeia recommends using 320 mg of lipid-sterolic extract titrated to 85%-95% in fat acids, which is precisely the quantity and titration contained in Urelax Plus.
Boldo dry extract (200 mg) of which dihydroxy-dimethoxy-aporphine 100 mcg
Alphalytic-like action. There is scientific evidence which shows how boldo selectively binds alpha-1a adrenergic receptors. Blocking this receptors removes the obstruction of the bladder outlet without impacting its contractility. Such treatment is recommended by European guidelines for all subjects suffering from moderate to severe dysuria with 1A level of evidence.
Chili Pepper (60 mg), of which capsaicin 1.2 mg
Capsaicin selectively blocks the group C unmyelinated fibers, which are normally silent. Group C unmyelinated fibers only activate during bladder hypersensitivity and hyperactivity, causing increased urinary frequency and urgency, incontinence and reduced bladder capacity. Interaction between capsaicin and the vanilloid receptors causes desensitivisation of the group C fibers, thus interrupting the response to the nociceptive stimuli and inhibiting the hyperactivity of the detrusor muscle. Therefore capsaicin successfully relieves pain and normalises urination.
Vitamin E (12 mg) and Lycopene (3 mg) have an antioxidant effect.
